Papers elected top picks by IEEE Micro

Two papers were selected by IEEE Micro as top picks from this year’s computer architecture conferences: “Reactive NUCA: Near-Optimal Block Placement and Replication in Distributed Caches”, by Nikos Hardavellas (Northwestern), Michael Ferdman, Babak Falsafi and Anastasia Ailamaki, (from ISCA 2009), and “Practical Off-chip Meta-data for Temporal Memory Streaming”, by Thomas Wenisch (Michigan), Michael Ferdman, Babak Falsafi, Anastasia Ailamaki, and Andreas Moshovos (Toronto).


Student Paper Award

Leonidas Georgopoulos from the Nonlinear Systems Laboratory has won a Student Paper Award at the conference NOLTA 2009 (International Symposium on Nonlinear Theory and its Applications), help in Sapporo, Japan , for the paper "Nonlinear Average Consensus" and its presentation. The paper is coauthered by Prof. Martin Hasler.


   

2009 Grand Prix France Telecom to Pierre Bremaud

Professor Pierre Bremaud has received the 2009 Grand Prix France Telecom of the French Academy of Sciences.


Ronan Boulic promoted

The School of Computer and Communication sciences has decided to promote Ronan Boulic to senior scientist (MER).
